Beef Jerky Sales Fundraiser

2012 Shakopee Youth Football Beef Jerky Fundraiser!!

Saturday morning, August 11th, will kickoff our annual Jack Links Beef Jerky Fundraiser. This is our single major fundraiser for Shakopee Youth Football, and allows our program to buy new gear for players and have new, lighted playing fields. In past years, we've tried to do many different little fundraisers with mixed success. This one fundraiser replaces those other efforts.

We've realized that with the tremendous football growth in our area, we will soon outgrow the number of lit fields at Tahpah. So the main goal of this fundraiser is to begin to set aside money to help fund the installation of lights on additional fields, wherever they may be. We've put a proposal into the city for converting the empty field space on the far west side of Tahpah Park. Ideally, we'd like to add two more fields there, both with lights on them. We also need to make capital improvements to our program, such as new helmets which we've already started as you may have noticed.

So much for the reasons why. Now for what you are really interested in. First, this fundraiser is totally optional, but we think there is motivation for the kids to want to sell. On the Saturday morning when we kick off the fundraiser, teams will be given sales packets for each player. The fundraiser runs for only TWO WEEKS, so don't delay in getting out to sell!

There will be prizes that the kids can earn by selling. Details will be included in the sales packet or check out the informational flyer on this page, but the prizes include a new 2012 Sabers knit beanie hat, sweatshirts, and  several iPods. 4th and 5th grade top-selling teams may also have the chance to play at the Metrodome during a Vikings pre-season game! How cool is that?

So find your friends, neighbors, and relatives who love beef jerky, and ask them if they can support your sales efforts and your football program, while getting a tasty treat at the same time.
